Xin chào Việt Nam! Hello Vietnam!
Your time in Vietnam begins with your arrival in Hanoi, the bustling capital of Vietnam. You will be met at the airport by a private transfer company, which will soon drop you off at your hotel. The city is unmissable in terms of its pretty pagodas, ancient temples, an enchanting French colonial quarter, and cultural institutions. Just as much fun, however, is darting down its winding lanes and discovering your own favorite hidden corners. The hustle and bustle of Hanoi are contagious, and it is also one of the best places to sample the mouthwatering array of street food that Vietnam is famous for.
Overnight in Hanoi
8:00 am, meet your guide in the lobby for a full-day tour with many exciting outdoor activities. Take a short drive to the outskirts of Hanoi to visit the fascinating Museum of Ethnology. From the outside, you will be attracted by the unique presentation as well as the dedicated layout of the displayed content, which is very scientific and logical. It is to grasp the cultural colors of each ethnic group. After two hours of learning about Vietnamese culture, you will move to Hoa Lo Prison (so-called Hanoi Hilton), which shows you a part of Vietnamese history & wars.
Today you will have Bún Chả for lunch. The Bún Chả will have vermicelli, grilled meat, and side dishes, including pickled vegetables, lettuce, and some herbs. A feature of Bún Chả is that it is served with a bowl of fish sauce seasoned to taste, with a little spice from pureed chili. Bún Chả will be a wonderful dining experience in the "Asian food paradise" - Vietnam for sure!
To start the afternoon activities, we will visit Hidden Gem, a Vietnamese Coffee Shop. The coffee shop is impressive because the furniture is created by taking advantage of discarded products such as plastic bottles, tires, paint containers, and some parts of motorbikes and tractors. This activity aims to protect the environment. A cup of Vietnamese egg coffee is a must-try there.
Another exciting activity is waiting for you! Our guide and driver will take you to Long Bien Bridge, the first steel bridge in Hanoi and one of the first bridges built by the French in Vietnam. After a short walk on the more than one-hundred-year-old bridge, admire the panorama river view and listen to your tour guide telling stories about history, Red River Delta culture, and local daily life; you will discover the banana island right at the foot of the bridge. The walking banana island activity is a chance to observe the infinite fruit plantation, also a one-of-a-kind memory for photography souls or nature lovers.
Finish the day with a fun cyclo (a three-wheeled bicycle taxi). You will ride through the French colonial architecture of the precinct known as the French Quarter, past the French-style villas, the Vietnam History Museum, the heritage Metropole Legend Hotel, and the Opera House. Of course, you will not miss the Hanoi Old Quarter before returning to your hotel around 17:00.
Overnight in Hanoi.
Limestone outcrops blanketed in lush vegetation rise from the still, jade-colored water. Your boat glides smoothly across the glassy surface, the shapes and shadows of the islets changing as you navigate this watery paradise. That is Lan Ha Bay, the beautiful neighbor of Halong Bay. Although belonging to a different province, Lan Ha is essentially an extension of Halong Bay and offers the same mesmerizing scenery. Lying southeast of Cat Ba Island, fewer boats make their way to Lan Ha, meaning you'll enjoy this idyllic setting without the busy crowds. As you weave through the islands, you'll come across secluded bays, white sandy beaches, and floating villages. There are caves to explore, and islands to cycle on, and the pristine waters are perfect for swimming and kayaking. Your boat will be your home away from home as you explore Lan Ha Bay, and there are few experiences as magical as watching the sunrise from the comfort of your cabin, then watching it sink behind the sparkling water as the day draws to an end.
Overnight onboard.
The morning sun stretches over the karsts and the shimmering calm sea. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee is enough to bring you to an exciting alert. The cruise continues to sail along the fabulous scenery of the surrounding bay. You come to the fishing village of Viet Hai, one of Vietnam’s last remaining hidden gems, largely untouched by industrial development. It lies nestled on the eastern side of Cat Ba and is inaccessible by road from the rest of the island - hence its isolation. The 300-person village was founded before the designation of Cat Ba National Park, and thus parts of the village still remain within the park, making for a uniquely beautiful setting. This is where you can really get to grips with local Vietnamese life, including tree-planting with the locals, learning how wine is fermented, fishing, and animal farming. After disembarking from the cruise ship, you can access Viet Hai by bicycle or electric buggy. The visit takes between one and two hours. Your private driver is waiting for you at the dock to send you back to Noi Bai Airport. After departing from Hanoi by air and arriving in Danang, you are met by your private transfer and taken to the charming city of Hoi An, where the merchant past shaped its quintessential presence within the elegant architecture and sleepy town atmosphere.
Overnight in Hoi An.
You start a new day with an orientation walk in Hoi An town. The walking tour will offer you a chance to visit: a private house where members of the same family have lived continuously for centuries in a traditional setting; the Sa Huynh Museum, which contains exhibitions from the earliest period of Hoi An's history; and the famous Japanese Covered Bridge Pagoda, the iconic symbol of Hoi An nowadays. The second part of this morning is learning how to make a colorful lantern. Getting the guide from your instructor, you will select from a wealth of different silks, craft a bamboo frame, and create your lantern, which will fold neatly into your luggage and bring it back home as a souvenir. Enjoy lunch before walking back to the hotel and spending the rest of the day by the swimming pool or beach.
Overnight in Hoi An
Spend your time drifting around the Cu Lao Cham Marine Protected Areas, hitting the top deck for sunbathing, or staying cool in the shade with complimentary cakes and coffee on our double-decked boats. The pretty coral reefs formed around the outer islands include around 135 species of coral and over 200 species of tropical fish. It's lots of fun with quality snorkeling equipment for everyone, including kids of all ages. Our tour is also perfect for mixed groups of divers and snorkelers.
But it’s not just about snorkeling. Enjoy lunch on Cham Island at spectacular Bai Chong beach in a bamboo-style restaurant under the coconut trees. After lunch, you have free time on Bai Chong with more swimming, frisbee, volleyball, or just relaxing in a hammock or deck chair with a cool drink and a sensational view. It’s selfie heaven. You finish the perfect day with a slow cruise back to Hoi An as local fishing boats depart Hoi An’s Thu Bon River, enjoying stunning views. A photographer’s delight!
Overnight in Hoi An.
The colorful light of Hoi An’s lantern-lined streets fades with the coming morning. Your private transfer takes you to Da Nang Train Station, where you will arrive on the pristine beach of Quy Nhon. Embark on a luxurious railway adventure of Vietage, which links the heritage charm of Hoi An and the sparkling shores of Quy Nhon. The 6-hour journey passes through the lush landscapes and spectacular coastlines of Central Vietnam and combines old-world comfort, breathtaking views, and gourmet dining to leave you inspired, refreshed, and ready for your next destination.
Overnight in Quy Nhon.
The sun rises on the ocean, and the water catches the early morning sunlight. Make sure you can get up early to enjoy the sunrise moment on the beach. After breakfast, meet your private guide and driver in the lobby, and be ready for a wonderful new-day trip in the Maldives of Vietnam.
Explore Ghenh Rang, Tien Sa sights, Mong Cam slope, Thi Nhan Hill, Han Mac Tu Grave, and Queen Beach. You will learn about the talented poet Han Mac Tu’s life – and enjoy the panoramic view of Quy Nhon Coastal. Continue to the Binh Dinh General Museum, which preserves and displays the historical and cultural objects of Binh Dinh from the early centuries. Finish the morning tour at Twin Towers, the one-of-a-kind architectural gem of Champa. Spend the afternoon discovering the Quy Hoa leprosy site, where the poet Han Mac Tu lived and wrote in the leprosy years. Visit Long Khanh Pagoda – Ancestral Temple – historical landscapes of Binh Dinh Province. The Pagoda was built in 1700 by the Patriarch Duc Son 300 years ago and passed over to 13 abbots as a legend. The end of the tour is getting back to the hotel.
Overnight in Quy Nhon.
