Upon arrival at Luang Prabang international airport you will meet your guide, and then we will transfer you to your hotel.

An optional early start gives you the fantastic opportunity to participate in the daily morning alms giving ritual to saffron clad monks. This tradition is unique to Laos, being the only Buddhist nation still preserving this procession. Stop and visit fresh local markets and back to hotel for breakfast.

 After you’ve had free breakfast at the hotel we depart to visit Wat Visoun, the site of impressive Thad Makmo stupa, then continue to visit Wat Aham. Next we visit to the most photographed temple, Wat Xiengthong, located at the end of peninsular close to the confluence of Mekong and Khan rivers.

This afternoon, continue to the former Royal Palace, now the National Museum. Visit Wat Mai, a temple renowned for its golden bas-relief. During Pimai, the Lao New Year, the Prabang normally housed in the Royal Palace Museum is brought out and put on public display in this temple.

Meal: Breakfast

This morning, you will be driven to the Elephant Village, a center with a focus on the protection and rehabilitation of elephants in Laos. Upon arrival you will meet the camp manager and hear about the work carried out by their team of dedicated staff and volunteers in caring for the elephants. Next, riding on elephant’s neck (the strongest part of an elephant) for a jungle walk. (25 mins – 1 person per elephant and absolutely no uncomfortable and heavy riding harness)

 This afternoon, travel to the outskirt of Luang prabang, driving through green rice paddies and farms. Stop to visit few villages of H’mong and Lao loum people, your guide can introduce you to the local people and you can take the opportunity to get involved and try some of their daily activities such as wooden loom cotton spinning, weaving, rice harvesting, and green vegetable farming. On your arrival  at the Kuang Si waterfalls, enjoy a short trek along the trails of the falls, to visit the Bear Rescue Centre and enjoy the main waterfalls with spectacular views surrounded by orchids inside the park as the falls cascade over many calcified tiers and down several hundred feet into a series of cool, turquoise pools. Drive back to Luang Prabang.

After free breakfast at the hotel we will drive to Nong Khiew. Along the way we stop to visit Ban Nayang village and Nam park market. When we arrive in Nong Khiew you will have time to wander about to find something nice for lunch on your own. Visit Pa Thok cave, then board a boat to Ban Sojam. Walking on foot to explore this village then continue your cruise to Muong Ngoy.  Arrival and check-in guesthouse in Muong Ngoy.

After free breakfast at the hotel, we will walk to visit some local villages before embarking on boat to cruise back Nong Khiew.

Drive from Nong Khiew to Luang Prabang. Visit Pak Ou caves at the convergence of the Mekong and Nam Ou rivers. In these 2 caves are displayed hundreds of sacred centuries-old Buddha images which are the object of pilgrimages during the Lao New Year festivities around mid-April. Heading to Luang Prabang. Arrive and check into the hotel in Luang Prabang.

After free breakfast at the hotel, drive to Vang Vieng, the drive passes through splendid scenery and past many panoramic lookout points on the winding mountain top roads.  There are several stops en route to take photos of the scenery. 

Arrive in Vang Vieng and descending the Nam Song river by long tail boat, leading us through idyllic scenes of rural life: a unique sight with the limestone mountains in the background.

After free breakfast at the hotel, heading to Tham Jang cave 172 steps up to the top, where you can see the spectacular views of the city and the landscape.

Then drive to Vientiane, about 4 hours to the capital.  Arrival in Vientiane and visit Wat Sisaket with its thousands of miniature Buddha statues.

The huge golden That Luang monument, where all Lao people respect as the holy pagoda.

Vientiane’s own Victory Monument, which looks like the Arc de Triomphe. This was built at the end of the Indochina wars with money rumored to be American, and earmarked for the airport’s new runway. Thus the departing Americans dubbed this monument the vertical runway! Have a look at the lovely arches inside the monument.
