In the morning, you will take your own free time to explore the last of Hanoi before we bring you to the domestic airport for the two-hour flight to Ho Chi Minh City.

Upon arrival at Ho Chi Minh City, you will be received by us and brought to the hotel to check in. Then we will start with a city tour by visiting Notre Dame Cathedral, the historic Central Post Office. After that, the tour will be followed by exploring the Reunification Palace and the remarkable site of the War Remnants Museum.

We will have lunch before visiting the Cu Chi Tunnels. Located 60km from Ho Chi Minh City, Cu Chi is now considered a heroic district for its strategic role during the American war in Vietnam. It is significant to Vietnam for its network of tunnels which extends over 220km, and is a popular destination for both Vietnamese and foreign visitors.

Today, Cu Chi is a tranquil place of rice paddy fields with ducks and water buffalo bathing in the rivers alongside the road. But this peaceful rural scene belies the terrible destruction and defoliation caused by bombing and mines when Cu Chi was a “Free Target Zone” during the wartime. Cu Chi still contains obvious evidence of the fierce battles that took place before. After that, we will bring you back to your hotel.

Meal: Breakfast,Lunch

8:00: After breakfast in the hotel, we will leave Ho Chi Minh city to the next adventure. Enjoy the scenic journey along the National Highway bordered by green rice fields. Upon arrival at My Tho, visit Vinh Trang pagoda. Take a leisurely boat ride along the river, seestilt houses, fruit plantations and fishing villages along the river bank. Proceed to Tortoise islet, have lunch in the orchard garden. Then take another boat ride to An Khanh – a less touristy attraction in Ben Tre. Enjoy cruising on a hand-rowed sampan under the shade of the water coconut trees along natural canals, then enjoy seasonal fruit and honey tea to the sound of "Southern Vietnamese folk music", performed by the locals. Visit a family business, which epitomizes the idyllic rural lifestyle. Taste delicious coconut candies and observe the pastoral life as you wander through the fruit plantations and villages. Proceed to Can Tho where you will spend the night.

Meal: Breakfast,Lunch

After breakfast, you take the boat trip to explore the picturesque tributaries of the Lower Mekong River. The boat takes you to the Cai Rang floating market, which is the most original local and bustling markets of the region. Here, you can also see how Vietnamese vermicelli noodle is made.

Afternoon: Get on your car, proceed to Chau Doc and continue the tour to visit Tra Su. This nature reserve covers a massive area that is home to the rich diverse species of water birds, fishes, reptiles, bats and some endangered species. The lush vegetation, florals and fauna create an amazing haven for the wildlife. Take a motorized boat, followed by a rowing boat deep into the forest, passing through the waterways. Then take a short walk to the observation tower to enjoy the panoramic view or the area. You will return to the town and stay overnight in Chau Doc.

In the same afternoon, we will visit Independence Monument and Wat Phnom Temple, a Phnom Penh's namesake, where you can enjoy views over the tree-lined avenues of the city during sunset. We spend the rest of the time to explore the Central Market (PhsarThmei), a large market constructed in 1937 in the shape of a dome with four arms branching out into vast hallways with countless stalls of goods. The four wings of this gigantic yellow dome are teeming with stalls that sell goods ranging from gold and silver, antique coins, money exchange, men's and women's apparel, clocks, books, flowers, food, fabrics, shoes, souvenirs, fish, seafood, dessert, luggage and other products

Overnight in Phnom Penh.

Meal: Breakfast,Lunch

After breakfast at the hotel, you will visit the Royal Palace, built by King Norodom in 1866 at the site of the old town and the Silver Pagoda. Located within the grounds of the Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda is named as it is because of its floor that is made up of 5,000 silver tiles. The treasures found inside include a solid gold Buddha weighing 90kg and a small 17th century emerald and baccarat crystal Buddha. We continue to visit the National Museum, also called Musee des Beaux-Arts. A French archaeologist and painter Georges Groslier designed it in Khmer style in 1917. The museum contains a collection of Khmer art - notably sculptures - throughout the ages.

You will have lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you will visit TuolSleng Museum (S-21 prison). This former school was used as a prison by Pol Pot’s security forces. More than 17,000 people held at S-21 were taken to the extermination camp at ChoengEk to be executed. We spend the remaining time at Phnom Penh’s PsarToul Tom Pong, also known as Russian Market. This excursion may prove distressing for some. It is, however, an important piece of this country’s historical and cultural puzzle. Overnight in Phnom Penh.
